Why does my energy blocks?! This is the question I get the most!
We all have those days when we feel completely off and don’t know why. You might think: “I didn’t change anything in my routine, diet, exercise, or work. Everything is the same so why am I feeling off today?”
Most of the time, people don’t think about the connectivity that exists between our mental, emotional and physical states with the life force energy flow. So, I am happy to help you better understand this process, the potential disruption factors, signs that your energy might be unbalanced, and what you can do to keep the life force energy flowing. After all, energy blockages can have a significant impact on our overall health and well-being. Understanding and addressing these blockages can help us live a more balanced and fulfilling life.
How does the Energy Flow?
Many cultures believe in a vital energy force that animates the body and that we are alive because this life force energy is flowing through us. The life force flows within the physical body through pathways called chakras and meridians. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of energy is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.
The life force is also responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves, others, and the world around us. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field disrupting the energy flow which might harm our mental and emotional health.
What could Disrupt the Energy Flow?
Many things can disrupt the energy flow in our bodies. Here are some potential causes:
● Emotional Imbalances: Past traumas, negative thoughts and emotions like anger, fear, disappointments, grief, regret, or sadness are believed to create blockages in the body's energy field.
● Stress & Anxiety: Chronic stress and anxiety can have a significant impact on the energy field. The body's fight-or-flight response can drain resources and leave you feeling depleted.
● Lifestyle Factors: Poor diet, lack of exercise, and insufficient sleep can disrupt the energy flow.
● Negative Relationships: Strained relationships with family, friends, or colleagues can be a major source of stress. This chronic stress can deplete your energy reserves and leave you feeling drained.
● Lack of Support: If you don't feel supported or accepted by your community, it can lead to feelings of isolation and loneliness. This can take a toll on your emotional and physical well-being, impacting your energy levels.
● Toxic Environments: If your community is filled with negativity, drama, or constant conflict, it can be emotionally draining and contribute to feelings of fatigue.
● Environmental Toxins: Exposure to pollutants and other toxins in the environment is thought to contribute to energy blockages.
What Are the Signs that Your Energy is Blocked?
● Disrupted Flow: You could feel stagnant or sluggish energy in certain areas of your body. This could be due to emotional imbalances, physical tension, or past traumas.
● Diminished Vitality: You might experience low energy levels, fatigue, or a lack of motivation. You might feel disconnected from yourself or your surroundings.
● Emotional Signs: Negative emotions like anger, fear, sadness, or unresolved grief could manifest as energy blockages. These emotions might be associated with specific areas of the body (e.g. throat, chest, lower back) where the block is located.
● Physical Symptoms: Energy blockages might also manifest as physical discomfort or pain in certain areas of the body. This could be due to the disrupted energy flow affecting the corresponding physical structures.
Disrupted Chakras & Disease: All these causes directly affect the life force energy flow and block the energy centers also called chakras. Each chakra is associated with different emotions and bodily functions. A blocked chakra could lead to imbalances in the corresponding areas. According to alternative medicine practices imbalances (or blockages) in the energy flow are believed to contribute to disease.
Here are some examples:
● Imagine someone who has been going through a stressful time at work. They might have an energy block in their solar plexus chakra, which is associated with willpower and confidence. This could manifest as feelings of fatigue, digestive issues, and a general sense of being overwhelmed.
● When someone experiences social interaction challenges, certain chakras (energy centers) like the throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral, and root are more affected than others. For example, a lack of support might be linked to a blocked heart chakra.
● Experiencing prolonged sadness, grief, heartbreak, or feelings of isolation can contribute to a blocked heart chakra. This can be due to a loss (death of a loved one, pet, or relationship), unresolved emotional pain, or holding onto negativity.
Here are some tips to keep your energy balanced:
● Diet: Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains provides your body with the nutrients it needs to function optimally.
● Exercise: Regular physical activity can help improve overall well-being and energy flow.
● Hydration: Dehydration can lead to fatigue. Aim to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Water helps to detox stagnated energies and grounds you.
● Mindfulness Practices: Activities like meditation or yoga can help manage stress and promote relaxation, which can improve energy flow.
● Build a supportive network: Surround yourself with positive and uplifting people who make you feel good.
● Set boundaries: Learn to say no to toxic interactions and situations that drain your energy.
● Advocate for change: If your community lacks resources, get involved in efforts to improve access to healthy food, green spaces, or exercise options.
● Focus on self-care: Prioritize activities that promote your physical and mental well-being. By engaging in practices that promote love, compassion, and self-care, you might find it easier to experience a greater sense of joy and connection.
By addressing the root causes of emotional issues, like stress, anxiety, and unhealthy habits, you might better manage your energy levels and feel more vibrant for longer.
