What is Reiki?

healing hands throat and crown.jpg

Reiki is a Japanese form of alternative medicine called energy healing. Reiki practitioners use a technique called hands-on healing whereby a "universal life energy" is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the client's fully clothed body in order to encourage mental, emotional, and physical healing. The energy flows to wherever it is needed in the body, promoting many benefits, such as the following:

  • Decreases pain

  • Expedites recovery time from surgery

  • Reduces stress and anxiety

  • Integrates well with medical treatments

  • May reduce the need for pain medication

  • Builds immunity

  • Decreases inflammation

  • Gives you a profound feeling of well-being and greater inner calm

Anyone can receive Reiki or learn to be a Reiki practitioner. No previous experience or special skills are required to learn this gentle, nurturing energy healing technique.
